Tell us a little about yourself.
I was an art major in college and flipped from craft to craft for....well,forever. I did not pursue my art as a career but was always involved in some craft most of the time. I now have the time to indulge my love of creating, almost full time.
If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?
LOVE dogs but truly don't want the responsibility anymore.
Fruit or chocolate?
Your favorite meal?
Lobster and ice cream
City break or weekend in the country?
I heard about HOST in the forums and have always felt blessed so giving is a natural. Wish I could do more.
How did you first get interested in what you do?
I had a pencil in my hand very young and; loved to draw. I taught myself to knit by secretly watching my mother when I was 8. That started it all. I've always had a 'knack' and the problem is curtailing my interests. They're all over the place.
Tell us about your shop.
One shop (allaboutthefiber.etsy.com)is strictly fiber realted-knitted, crocheted items along with embroidery and ribbon. The other (allaboutthebuttons.etsy.com)is focused on items adorned with buttons-clocks, magnetic bookmarks, magnets, barrettes and whatever else I can think of.
What do you love most about selling on Etsy?
It is such a kick to sell something across the street or around the world. The extra money is always welcome but I do it for the love of creating.
Where else can we find you? (facebook, blog, twitter, flickr, etc)
Any advice you would like to share with others that might read this?
To me, the key to success with online selling are the 3 Ps: patience, photography and promotion. Of course, a quality item goes without saying!
What is the best etsy tip or resource you have found or been given?
Be aware that you may wind up spending more time promoting than creating so learn to balance (juggle) your time. And if you're not having a good time, don't do it!
