PROMOTION PACK offer for Etsy sellers

One of our HOST members, Dee, from thegypsyjewels, will be participating in a craft show on 11 October. She is also planning a second event - a "Ladies Night Out Show" during November.

Dee would like to collate some PROMOTION PACKS from Etsy sellers and is inviting sellers to send her any promotional items of their choice.

Items can include business cards, samples, promo offer codes - you choose what you would like to contribute, and how many!

The first event is not too distant now, and Dee will need time to collate the PROMOTION PACKS, so if you would like to participate, please convo Dee via her Etsy shop thegypsyjewels to sort out the details!

Thanks for such a super offer and opportunity Dee!!

This Labor Day Weekend

It's all happening this weekend folks! We have quite a few busy HOSTies out and about and some running for cover...

Our Cat of catiahades is at the Bellevue Labor Day Festival in Bellevue, Idaho. In the run up to this event, Cat ran several promotions in the Etsy forums inviting sellers to send her their promotional material. She collective some fabulous items and prepared some really exciting promo packs with mixed goodies to offer for sale at the event this weekend, with all proceeds coming to HOST to be used to help Etsians in need! Fantastic idea Cat - we are really proud of you for coming up with it and putting in all the work to collect and collate the promo packs. In addition to the promo packs, Cat will have her Etsy shop range of signature kitsch jewellery and items including her super fun, and funky-shaped crayons!

Our Kara of CoryellDesign has a stall at Koneheta Park in Murphy, NC, for the Labor Day Heritage Festival Arts and Crafts Show - follow this link for detailed information and timetable http://www.heritagepartners.org/hwf.htm . When she is not enjoying ice cream, buggy rides, funky music, or rescuing her beloved dog pack from the nearby 'cooling off' stream, Kara will hopefully be busy gift-wrapping for the sales fairy! CoryellDesign offers delicious jewellery incorporating fabulous gemstones, to suit a range of budgets.

And our Mother and Daughter team of Serenity from Cornucopias, and !Spring from yodamoon will be holding down a stall at this weekend's ArT the Beach event at The Lincoln City Cultural Center, OR. Follow this link for more information about this 2-day event: http://www.lincolncityarts.org/calendar-lccc.html If you are in the area, stop by and check out this friendly family stall for beads, jewellery, and handmade clothing including !Spring's (fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!) signature bloomers.

In contrast to these HOSTies, our Maggie of CrochetMaggie is staying firmly put at home with her family in Denham Springs, LA, where they are bracing themselves for the approaching hurricane Gustav. Maggie has had a busy time - as have so many others - running around preparing for the arrival of Gustav and stocking up on essential supplies. Maggie, everyone at HOST is hoping Gustav will just *pouf* and disappear leaving you all safe and sound. We are all praying, or lighting candles - whatever happens to be our thing - for you and for all those others nervously waiting to see what sort of mood Gustav arrives in... Warm, safe wishes to everyone in Gustav's path - we hope you, your friends, your families, your homes, and your businesses will come through unscathed and safe...

Congratulations!

HOST members are celebrating the success of our three girls - Mishy, Kimberley, and Spring - following their super busy weekend away at the different shows and festivals we covered in our previous post. They worked incredibly hard to get ready for these events and the effort was well invested because they all did so very well AND had a fabulous time! We are very proud of you girls, and very happy for you, so CONGRATS and hugs to you and 'roll on the next event'!

Fun... festivals... and HOSTies

Three of our HOST members have been particularly busy bees lately. They have been doing some pretty frenzied creating, getting ready for some important festivals and craft events that they are participating in this weekend. Since our readers are as geographically scattered as the HOSTies, we figured we would let you all know who is doing what and where, since many of you may be able to go along to these events and join in the fun!

Michelle of
http://FireAndIceDesigns.etsy.com and http://ChristianPress.etsy.com will be in the Art Market at the Harrison Festival this weekend: July 11, 12 and 13, in BC. The Art Market is situated in a gorgeous location, along the beach in beautiful Harrison Hot Spring. The opening times vary slightly over these three days: 11:00am - 7:00pm Saturday and 11:00am - 5:00pm Friday and Sunday. Michelle will have a fabulous range of items on offer including beautiful glass vases and votives, stunning lampwork beads and pendants, and glass business card holders! If you would like to read more about the Harrison Festival, just follow this link: http://www.harrisonfestival.com

Many of you will know be familiar with the fun, hand-printed mama's T-shirts and baby onesies, all printed with hilarious one-liners or illustrations available from
http://mamamonkey.etsy.com This weekend, our mama monkey will be at the 37th annual "Wayne Hobbs and Irv Hamilton" Kent Lions Street Fair in Kent, WA. There will be over 600 handcraft and commercial vendors at this street market, that lines the road for several blocks, so whether or not you visit to check out mama monkey's stall, it is well worth going along for a great family outing! Oh, and mama will also have a selection of the most adorable little girls' dresses made by another of our own: Brenda of http://bstep401.etsy.com For more information, visit this link: http://www.kcdays.com

Finally, our very own Spring of
http://yodamoon.etsy.com will be at the Oregon Country Fair in Veneta (Eugene), Oregon. Visit, and you will find a fantastic array of music and entertainment, as well as fabulous handmade goods to shop for - and Spring will have a huge range of her beautifully sewn skirts and bloomers on offer! We HOSTies are all big fans of our yoda-bloomers - wear them for sleeping in, lounging in, even to add a warm layer in winter under skirts and dresses. They are soft, comfy, and even suitable for mamas-to-be... 'belly bloomers'! This is another wonderful event to enjoy with friends or family, and if you would like to learn more, check out this link: http://www.oregoncountryfair.org

Good luck girls! We hope it's a sell-out for all of you but most of all: enjoy it and have fun! If any of our readers manage to go along to these events, please stop by and say 'Hi' to our HOSTies, and enjoy browsing all the super items they will have on offer - you definitely won't be disappointed :)
